The ACCESS project (Academic Cooperation Europe-South-East Asia Support) aims at strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions from Europe and South East Asia (SEA) in a long-term and sustainable perspective. The project, supported by the Erasmus Mundus Programme of the European Commission, will explore the perceptions and expectations of SEA higher Education stakeholders towards European higher education system and, will promote meaningful higher education partnership schemes, and will support the dialogue process around the common EU-SEA HE area.

3dr ACCESS Conference on Challenges for Southeast Asia – Europe University Cooperation in the 21st Century, celebrated in Yogjakarta, Indonesia on 27-28 July 2010

On July the 27th and 28th 2010, the third and last ACCESS Interregional Dialogue Event was held in Yogjakarta, Indonesia, under the title “Challenges for Southeast Asia – Europe University Cooperation in the 21st Century”. The Event was organised by the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and hosted by the Gadjah Mada University, in the frame of the ACCESS Project, with the support of the European Commission’s Erasmus Mundus Programme.

First ASEMUNDUS contact seminar in Jakarta, Indonesia

On October 7/8, 2010 and in the run-up to the EHEF Jakarta 2010 (October 9/10, 2010) a contact seminar on Erasmus Mundus will take place for interested European and Indonesian higher education representatives. Organized by the European consortium ASEMUNDUS, the seminar aims to help facilitate and strengthen cooperation and increase the number of Erasmus Mundus partnerships between Europe and Asia. The seminar offers a unique opportunity to upgrade your network by getting in touch with future cooperation partners and present your project proposal to an interested Indonesian audience.

10,000 Erasmus Mundus scholarships for 2009-2010

The European Commission has just awarded almost 10,000 new grants to be funded by the Erasmus Mundus programme in the academic year 2009-2010. 8,385 students and academics will come to study or teach in Europe, and 1,561 Europeans will spend periods at partner institutions in countries outside Europe. In the academic year of 2008 – 2009, 37 Thai students and 8 scholars have received grants under the Erasmus Mundus Programme.
